Thank you so much for all of the love I have felt from those of you here on hubpages this week. Our lives were turned upside down by the sudden death of my nephew. Now we are on our way to recover.

Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a wee bit of a girl. And now I have a place where thoughts that come to mine can be shared.

HubPages is a welcoming community where you will find encouragement, support, and make new friends. If you have always wanted to write, join HP today.

My early years were spent in a rural town just off the Chesepeake Bay. After high school, I earned a BS in Education at PIkeville College in Pikeville, Ky. Five years later, I earned my Masters in Education  from Michingan State University, and five years later, I earned my Eductional Leadership in Admininstration and Supervision from Nova Southeastern University. I became a teacher and it was my good fortune to teach chldren in grades k-8 for forty years.

I have always said that my degrees are the tools that enabled me to become a teacher. But the real learning, took place in the classroom as I learned life lessons from children and from others who taught shoulder to shoulder with me each day. I believe that because I was a teacher I became a better person, a better parent, a better grandparent. I learned to listen with my heart and to be so very patient---two traits which remain with me today.

My life is now filled with so many new experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. The AM A Z I N G grandboys that I share much of my time with make each day brand new for me. Their mere presence causes my heart to flop around in my chest e v e r y time they are near

God has blessed my family and me and sends Angels to us each day to comfort, uplift,  and rejoice with us. He has given me the love of amazing friends who really define the meaning of friendship.

Each day is a gift... Do not miss today...words that convey the mantra that guides my life.

“The difference between the almost right word and the right word is … the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.”
—Mark Twain
